Two BC based powerhouse brokerages raised over $57,000.00 for breast cancer research during a friendly end of year challenge last December.
The fundraising challenge was supported by the MPC Foundation dollar matching program which matched $5000.00 for each campaign with all funds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Robert Afan, Co-Founder & CEO of DLC Clear Trust Mortgage, was one of the first applicants to the dollar matching program and said that he put out the challenge to help change outcomes for Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Breast cancer accounts for 25% of all new cancer cases in women and a large percentage of Clear Trust Brokers are women. Needless to say, this is near and dear to our hearts and our organization is very passionate about this,” he says.

Stepping up to meet Clear Trust Mortgage’s challenge was Tango Financial, one of the largest group of brokerages in western Canada and part of the M3 group.
“Tango Financial was so excited to participate in this important cause alongside our friends at Clear Trust and MPC Foundation this winter. We are thrilled at the level of participation from our agents, clients and peers and friends,” says Steve Rogerson, Chairman, Tango Financial.
”Raising almost $32,000 for cancer research exceeded our expectations and demonstrates the strength and power of our team. At Tango Financial, our community is at the core of what we do

“Raising almost $32,000 for cancer research exceeded our expectations and demonstrates the strength and power of our team. At Tango Financial, our community is at the core of what we do, and coming together for something as meaningful as cancer research spoke to our collective soul,” adds Rogerson.
Afan agrees and says: “Being involved in charity fundraising events have always been an integral part of what we do at Clear Trust Mortgages; this is who we truly are. With the generous support of Mortgage Professionals Canada Foundation, along with our Clear Trust family, Lender partners, Realtor partners, friends, and families, we exceeded our fundraising goal significantly! With over $25,000 raised for Breast Cancer Research, we are grateful for the overwhelming response and support we received from our donors.”
“This challenge has been a lot of fun and we are looking forward to continuing our efforts to support the Canadian Cancer Society. What a fantastic way to raise over $57,000 with our friends at Tango Financial and with the support of the MPC Foundation. Together We Can and Together We Did! Thank you!” adds Afan.

The MPC Foundation is the official charitable organization of Mortgage Professionals Canada. In 2021/22 the MPC Foundation committed $100,000 to support campaigns benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society through the dollar matching program.
“On behalf of the MPC Foundation, we want to congratulate Clear Trust Mortgage and Tango Financial on their amazing fundraising results. Cancer touches so many Canadians and many within our industry have felt its impact first hand as either a patient themselves or as a care giver to a loved one. We are excited to continue to support our industry’s charitable activities,” says Daryl Harris, Chair of the Mortgage Professionals Canada Foundation.
